Ken has a scholarly appearance, with large round glasses. He can either be seen in his school uniform or in a long-collared blue button up and khaki pants. His eyes and hair, like Yuri's, are black.

At the beginning of the series, he seemed rather brave, facing bullies on his own, but leaving at the first chance he got. However, he changed after discovering his past, and became one of Yuri's best friends.

Ken's past life is that of the Great Wise Man, a close adviser to the original demon king. He was present at the time when he and the Originators were imprisoned in the four boxes.

[edit] Season 1
Ken was being bullied by a few kids from his school when Yuri, who he never really spoke to, interrupted. He fled, leaving the trouble to Yuri. After Yuri is flushed into the other world and subsequently sent back, Ken is the one to "save" him from drowning. He continues to do this for some time, creating a friendship with Yuri in the process.
